DHL inhouse market place for packaging products

Business Requirement
Digitise the role of the distributor by creating a one-stop shop for the ordering, management and disposal of packaging and pallets within different DHL supply chain sites.
My Contribution

My responsibility was to digital transform the package ordering process for DHL Warehouse, London.

I was actively involved in all phases of discovery, ideation, testing, and implementation, ensuring alignment with stakeholder objectives and technical feasibility.

This documentation captured the entire journey, key findings, and the rationale behind design decisions.

The product development was executed by HCL Technologies in Noida, India, achieving significant milestones in usability and functionality.

Delving into the process
Understanding the current process of tracking, ordering, managing stock and receipting has lot of inconsistences, consumes enormous time, its manual and lacks single source of truth.
The Catalogue management is another area which is an application that is used by the manufacturer for maintaining consistency across all the products as the price varies from different consumables based on the type of city you live in and is completely independent of packing and logistics team.
Most of the process involves mail and excel based communication which makes users to have latest documents for effective communication from manufacturer, warehouse operations and the finance team for knowing the product code, price, quantity, specifications as all this things are not done in one shot as orders gets deliverd partially or sometimes they get cancelled.
All orders for consumables needs to get approved by the finance to receive the delivery and it gets with held at finance team due to large number of orders and criticality of the orders is difficult to address as there is no single source of truth and tracking issue.
